Stop Stopping!

Why do we stop?
- Whenever we start something, many things immediately come rushing in that push us to quit: Fear of failure, fear of success, laziness, failing to believe in ourselves.
- Lack of true commitment in the first place. It’s easy to start...the challenge comes in staying committed. We shy away from starting by using limiting language like, “I need to, I should, I’d like to” but… (These are not commitments, but wishes.) But we do this so that if something is said or done that we don’t like, we won’t move forward with it.
- Lack accountability
Mindset
Not giving up is a mindset, and one that we have to learn. Having a “I won’t quit” mindset will make it easier and more likely for us to give up.
It is time to Stop Stopping!
8 Quick Tips to Stop Stopping and Remain Consistent:
- Before God opens a door, he has to open your mind.
- Adopt the mindset that you’re not giving up no matter what
2. Your (Inner) Circle: Watch someone else persevere
3. Be Accountable:
- Have someone who can talk you out of quitting
- Accountability partner| set checkpoints
- Knowing why you started helps you keep going
- Your why should compel or motivate you, or it’s not big enough
- Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results
- Try a different approach (Peter went fishing, caught nothing, until he tried it Jesus’ way - John 21)

8. Keep working on it (Bamboo Root spends 5 years just growing its roots. During that time, the only thing that is visible is a small shoot. After 5 years, the plant shoots up to 25 meters in a short amount of time)
